Thanks for stopping by for a visit. All this started as a dream to shine for girls all over the world. Our greeting card and gift line is sold in resorts, boutiques and specialty stores and helps us fund our main vision of shining for girls in their own communities. In a fun, creative and inspirational setting, we encouraged the girls to become the shining stars God designed them to be.

CHRISTINA DIMARI

Christina is an inspirational writer, artist and teacher who has a passion to inspire girls of all ages to pursue the dreams and unwrap the gifts God has placed within them. Christina received her BA degree from Simpson University where she studied cross-cultural communications. She then received a Master in Corrective Bodywork Therapy from NHI then went on to complete training in Art Therapy. For thirty years Christina has been empowering young women to find wholeness and purpose early on in their journey. She has been married to her husband Michael for twenty two years and loves being a mom to her two sons, Jake (19) and Trevor (17).   Christina founded Ocean Star Gifts as a way to fund her dream of shining for girls all over the world. She is also the author of Ocean Star, a memoir & You’re Designed to Shine six week study.

Our Team consists of several wonderful people who help in a variety of ways. Everything from volunteering at events, working in the warehouse to our board of directors.

Christina is the founder and president of Ocean Star Gifts, an inspirational line of greeting cards, inspirational books, journals, guest books, pearl jewelry and gifts sold all over the world. Christina explains, “It all started one day while I was at the beach. As my boys were surfing the waves in front of me, my editor called to tell me that although she loved all the life lessons I had woven throughout my memoir,which they were in the process of publishing, I needed to tell her which one was the most important theme I wanted my readers to connect with. They would then go in that direction with the title of my book. I picked up a starfish I had in my beach bag and began to write words in the sand. SHINE, DREAM, BELIEVE, RIDE YOUR WAVE, FRIENDSHIP, MENTORS, ENJOY LIFE, LOOK UP.... My words had become a magnet, drawing everyone who was on the beach to read what I was writing. One elderly couple walked up to me and asked me what I was doing. I told them that I had a rough road for quite awhile when I was growing up and I wanted to do something to help other girls, so they would have someone who was willing to be a light for them. I told them I was in the process of writing my story but I had a big dream to help empower girls all over the world to shine for other girls in their own communities.

While I was still rambling on sharing all the dreams I had in my heart, the little old lady gently took my hands in hers and shared “Christina, you have a beautiful vision and I believe in you that all the things you say are going to come true. These words you have written will speak life to all who receive them. Before the waters come and embrace your words, take pictures of each one, then make some greeting cards out of your pictures and use the back of your card to share your dream.”

I looked down at the trail of words I had written and realized I knew what my next step would be. I started selling my cards in a little surf shop in La Jolla, CA called Ocean Girl. Five years later they are now sold in a variety of locations all over the world.

I started with creating the SAND WRITING cards, then added, SURF N SEA cards and an outdoor nature line called REVEALED IN NATURE by my son, Jake. In 2009, several of my buyers asked me to create a line of GUEST BOOKS and JOURNALS because the card line was selling very well and they felt it was a missing piece in the marketplace. I launched 6 Guest Books and 6 Journals for the Spring Line of 2010.

Because of the success of my card line, I am living out my dream today. The vision started with one person speaking life into me. It has now spread to thousands and thousands of girls all over the world speaking life into the girls in their own communities.”

Christina is using her life to shine for young women around the world through her inspirational memoir, Ocean Star, which reads like a gripping novel, bringing to life ten hope filled life lessons through the symbols of the sea.

Christina says, “I wrote my memoir to encourage others to believe there is a special plan for their life, to never forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith, to pursue the gifts God has given them and to pass on those blessings to others. We each have a destiny to be discovered, a light that is meant to shine and a journey before us yet to be explored. I hope my readers will Look Up to the possibilities in their future and discover Pearls for the Journey from unexpected people and places along the way. And ultimately, like the Ocean Star, when we are connected to God as our Source of Life, no matter what gets broken along our journey, we will be made whole.”

Thousands of letters came in from girls around the world who were encouraged by reading Ocean Star. Christina wanted to do more to help the girls look at their own lives: Where they have been, where they are and where they want to go. So she created You’re Designed to Shine, a six week interactive journal/curriculum based on the six main lessons she wove throughout her memoir, Ocean Star. In a fun and thought provoking study, she coaches others to:

•Explore the Dreams you have for your life and make wise choices

•Discover the unique way your Star shines

•Travel with a supportive Pod of friends

•Recognize Pearls for your Journey from unexpected mentors along the way

•Lessons of letting go and receiving all good gifts from above

•Ride the wave of God’s dream for your life by shining for others

You’re Designed to Shine is for girls ages 8-88 and can be done on your own or with a group.

Now that the Study/Life Journal, You’re Designed to Shine is available girls all over the world are hosting their own small groups and using the material to shine the lessons Christina teaches at her events to the girls in their own communities. The ripple is going out and it is very exciting!
